Students will only be permitted to have two guests (18 or older) to assist with moving into their residence hall. It is your responsibility to practice social distancing and to use prevention methods, including any non-vaccinated guests in masks at all times.

Resident Students will report directly to Shamie Hall to begin the check-in process. Once you arrive on campus, you will proceed to Shamie Hall from either the Lot A or Lot N parking lot. We will have guides directing you to the correct parking lot and check-in area. You will receive a parking placard for your designated move-in time.

At Shamie Hall you will see a Red Tent. That is Step One.

Step One At Step One, you need to be ready to present staff with either your COVID badge in the Co-Verify app or if unvaccinated, a negative COVID test within 7 days of arrival to campus.

Step Two At Step Two you will confirm that you have checked-in and complete any necessary steps. Check in can be completed here: www.nichols.edu/check-in in advance.

Step Three You will receive your key, student ID, Fall Opening Schedule and lunch pass for the day.

Step Four Complete your move in! Enjoy your Welcome Lunch in Lombard Dining Hall and get ready for Fall Opening at 2:30pm at the Copper Quad. If you did not attend Summer Orientation and need your Student ID, make sure to stop by Public Safety to do so prior to 2:30pm!

Once you have moved in your belongings, you will be asked to immediately move your vehicle to a specified parking lot. Sticking to your move in time will help with the flow of traffic and ensure a smoother arrival to your new home away from home!

  • We will have the Herd Hauler student crew available to assist you in your move-in but it is a good idea to bring hand carts or dollys and extra muscles to aid in the process!
  • It is up to each individual person to be sure they are respecting social distancing. If there is a concern due to overlapping roommate(s) assigned times please reach out to reslife@nichols.edu
